Malaria

CPHDA works to promote global efforts to reduce malaria in Francophone countries in Sub-Saharan, by implementingintegrated case management (ICM) programs that focus on treatment of diarrhea, and malaria. CPHDA isfocused on improving access to effective treatment, enhancing quality of care, and increasinginformed demand amongcaregivers to seek prompt and effective treatmentfromtrained providers. To increaseaccess, CPHDA worksthroughpharmacy networks, private practices, and communityhealthworkers (CHWs) to reachcaregivers of childrenunder five with the quality services and commoditiestheyneed. By leveraging the mostappropriatechannel to reachcaregivers, CPHDA  provides high quality, cost effective integratedhealth services thataddress the main causes of mortality.

 

CPHDA focusesits malaria specificactivities on advocacy, communication and social mobilization by:

 

  1. Organizingeducational sessions for all members of community-basedorganizationscovering home care for fever/malaria cases and adverse reactions
  2. Trainingmembers of new community-basedorganizations in advocacy techniques regarding malaria prevention
  3. Organizingeducational sessions for all members of community-basedorganizationsregardingfever/malaria prevention
  4. Organizingcommunitymobilizationactivities
  5. Organizingeducational sessions for mothers, fathers and parental guardians of childrenunder 5 years of age on fever/malaria prevention
  6. Organizingeducational sessions for all members of community-basedorganizationsregardingfever/malaria prevention
  7. Organizing visits to monitor sick children undergoing treatment, and to make parents aware of education covering basic household cleaning and the outcome of check-up referrals.
